On this day in 1934, the Tokyo-based Jidosha-Seizo Kabushiki-Kaisha takes on a new name: Nissan Motor Company.
The first car they built was the Datsun 14. After three years the Nissan 70 was the first car named “Nissan”. Since then Nissan produced many milestones of the Japanese motor industry e.g. the Patrol, Skyline, Bluebird, Sunny, 200SX(Silvia), Nissan/Datsun Z series, Micra and finally the GTR. Since 2010 the Nissan Leaf ist the first electric Nissan.
